Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken coming to PS Vita

In the ideal world every PSN title for PlayStation 3 would also be compatible with PS Vita. As things stand, developers need to put in a good few months of extra work to port PSN games over to the Vita while ensuring they add new elements that take full advantage of the handheld’s diverse range of control inputs.

Last month Plants vs. Zombies was successfully ported to the Vita making it the first PSN title to successfully undergo the transition. Thankfully it won’t be the only PSN port that Vita owners can get their hands on during 2012. Last year’s side-scrolling action platformer Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken will be making its way to the handheld later this year courtesy of original developer Ratloop Asia.

The company is targeting a holiday 2012 release and recently released a trailer announcing the Vita version of Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken. Take a look below:

Ratloop Asia describes the game as follows:

“Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken takes you on a cinematic platform adventure through Albatropolis as you hunt down the Penguin’s corrupt leader, Putzki.

“Play as the badass Hardboiled Chicken and rescue Albatropolis from the totalitarian Penguin regime!

Along the way, you’ll have to kill many penguins, solve puzzles, incite revolution, and maybe possibly pilot a few jetpacks.”

I’m not sure about you, but I’d prefer to play the majority of PSN titles on PS Vita rather than PS3 as they typically offer a more casual, bite-sized experience than a AAA console title. What’s your take on the matter? Let us know in the comments.
