Media Create Japanese Software Sales for week ending December 11th: Monster Hunter 3G leads 3DS trio

After so many months of seeing little to no 3DS software represented in the top ten Media Create chart, isn’t it awesome to see all three podium spots occupied by 3DS titles?

Capcom’s Monster Hunter series has been utterly dominant in Japan in recent years, and this trend continues with Monster Hunter 3G / Tri G on 3DS. The game sold 521 959 copies during its first two days at retail, so come back next week to see how it fares over a full seven days.

Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land continue to sell well as the number of Japanese 3DS owners increases by a few hundred thousand each week, with a large percentage of them snapping up these two ‘must-have’ titles.

Both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim charted well this week, with the PS3 version occupying fourth position and the Xbox 360 version slotting in at number nine.

Next week we should see a couple of PS Vita titles (such as Uncharted: Golden Abyss) in the top ten although they’ll only have been on sale for two days. Be sure to tune in next week for this fascinating spectacle!

You can find the software chart below, while the hardware figures for this week are over here:
