Kojima Productions hiring for Los Angeles-based studio

For the past seven years Kojima Productions has been based solely in Japan, developing such games as Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. The studio’s most recent project is Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes - a game for current generation consoles that utilises Kojima Productions’ in-house Fox Engine.

Now recent job listings suggest that the company has opened a new office in Los Angeles and is working on at least one “3D action game” with both singleplayer and multiplayer elements. Some of the jobs advertised under ‘Kojima Productions Los Angeles’ include Production Co-ordinator, Game Level Designer and Concept Artist, so it seems likely that whatever game the studio is creating is still in the early stages of production.

One of the exciting features of the Fox Engine is that it reportedly shortens development time, so it will be interesting to see how quickly Kojima Productions Los Angeles can produce a game if the studio opts for this engine.

Are you excited to learn that Kojima Productions has opened or will be opening another studio to produce new games? Let us know in the comments.
