If you loved the CG sequences in games like Final Fantasy VIII, Resident Evil 2 and Tekken 5 then you’re bound to be impressed by the trailer for the upcoming CG film Tekken: Blood Vengeance.
Although the CG movie market is dominated by kid-friendly titles like Toy Story 3 and Megamind, every now and then a more action-orientated film reaches us from Japan. These are often based on game franchises and include titles such as Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children and Resident Evil: Degeneration.
Tekken: Blood Vengeance’s screenplay is written by Dai Sato whose previous projects include Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. The production studio behind Resident Evil: Degeneration - Digital Frontier - is producing the film, and given that movie’s stunning CG and insane action sequences, we can expect Blood Vengeance to stimulate our senses and get our hearts racing.
The film’s director is none other than Youichi Mouri, who was responsible for the opening cinematics in the console versions of Tekken 5 and Tekken 6.
Tekken: Blood Vengeance is due for a third quarter release in the U.S. and will be 3D compatible.
