It may not form part of the Wii U’s launch line-up, but Nintendo’s upcoming home console will be able to provide at least one super violent action game to its owners, because Tecmo Koei will be bringing the studio’s Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge re-release to the platform by March 2013.

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge is based on Ninja Gaiden 3 (which you’ll remember as the game that released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in March 2012), except Razor’s Edge will include new features and a new playable character, the female ninja Ayane, who you would know from Dead or Alive (and previous Ninja Gaiden games), making two-play online co-operative play possible.

New features and ways to play Ninja Gaiden 3 are also promised thanks to the provision of the Wii U’s GamePad tablet controller with gyroscope and touch screen functionality, but possibly the biggest addition to the Wii U version of the game is the return of masses amounts of gore, while new weapons and techniques are promised for protagonist Ryu Hayabusa as well.

The latest screenshots and trailer for Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge deftly showcase the return of the gore, as bodies explode, limbs are severed and blood spurts every-which way. If that’s your thing, then this is the game for you. Truly:
