TGS 2012: Sensational Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney trailer released with English subtitles

Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney TGS 2012 Trailer

The Tokyo Game Show has only been running for a couple of days but already we’ve been shown enough fantastic trailers to make our heads explode. The quality of the titles on display at TGS this year has made me very envious of Japanese gamers who get to sample the likes of Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney in just a few short months.

Level-5 and Capcom have been collaborating on this particular project since 2010 and the game will be out in Japan on November 29th. Here’s the spectacular TGS trailer for Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney with English subtitles by Ace Attorney fan site Court-Records.net (turn Annotations on to see them):

Here are more details about the game courtesy of Level-5’s TGS press release:

“An intriguing collaboration between two popular adventure games, ‘Professor Layton’ and ‘Ace Attorney’, will be released in Japan on November 29 for Nintendo 3DS! The destinies of Professor of Archaeology Hershel Layton and defense attorney Phoenix Wright collide in a parallel universe, the medieval city of Labyrinth. The player will be challenged to alternate between adventure and courtroom portions of the game as our heroes take part in an astonishing witch trial where “what is written in the story will always come to pass.” In a judicial system where common sense succumbs to irrationality, the stakes have never been higher!”

Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney hasn’t been announced for the West as yet but there’s a pretty good chance it will eventually be localised for English-speaking territories considering the enormous popularity of both franchises.
