Media Create Japanese Hardware Sales for week ending August 26th: 3DS XL leads the pack

The latest Media Create hardware chart sees combined console sales plummet 49% from last week. Sales are down across the board, with the 3DS XL, 3DS and Wii suffering the sharpest declines.

Interestingly the PS Vita sold more than the PSP this week, and only 1 016 units less than the PS3. Lifetime sales of the handheld in Japan now sit at 895 364 units. Hopefully we’ll see more support for PS Vita from Japanese developers as this figure continues to grow.
