Although the number of top games releasing this month is low compared to, say, April, the quality to quantity ratio is truly amazing, as every week for the next few weeks there?s some or other title that?s well worth your attention, across all genres.
We?ve collected together a list of games releasing over the course of the next few weeks (which you can peruse below), while members of El33tonline have sounded off on the titles that they?re most looking forward to, and that you may be chomping for too!

?I must say I’m intrigued by LA Noire. It looks very interesting and ambitious so I’m looking forward to trying it out. Other than that, for the last few years I’ve tended towards portable games more than console games, so Steel Diver is the one I’m most likely to get my gaming out of in May, at least when it comes to new games…
?It’s not the most interesting month of releases for me, so I’ll probably end up catching up on some older games that I haven’t been able to get to.?

?May may not normally be a month reserved for big game releases. Major games are held back for the 4th of July holidays in the States and the rest of us have to wait it out. Saying that, May may well be a great month for gaming regardless. Some great titles may be released!?
- LA Noire may be one of the biggest releases in the year, and not just May. It?s published by Rockstar, and whatever they touch may turn to gold. Secondly, it?s set in post WWII Los Angeles, also known as the city?s golden years. And I am sure we have all seen the trailers and how slick the animation looks. This one tops my list!
- Colin McRae may have passed on, but his legacy in the racing game genre may never be fully appreciated. DiRT 3 (these guys may not be able to spell, but they know how to make a good racing game!) is the latest edition in this long running series, and if DiRT 2 is anything to go by then this may be a dirty little game indeed! And I like them dirty!
- MX vs ATV Alive is the another dirty game, and is also a long running series. The last edition, REFLEX, was pretty good. Alive will sell at a reduced price, but then snag you with loads of DLC. Everything has been improved upon, hence this may be the best of the lot yet!
- As I child I was cruelly deprived of LEGO, so I used to play pirate games. Luckily modern technology allows me combine this ageless combination. LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean includes all 4 movies in the series in a similar vein as the other LEGO
games. That means collecting glowing LEGO pieces, building contraptions and breaking other contraptions. This may be very exciting! - The First Templar is a good looking action game with what may be the best feature on modern consoles: co-op! That is enough reason for me to get excited! Plus, it also features big swords, double win! I guess that makes it bi-winning?
- Section 8 was kind of a bomb (the bad kind) but the budget half-sequel may be just what the doctor ordered. A cheap multiplayer-focused shooter with spawn anywhere mechanics, I am looking forward to this one!
- Hunting may be considered a bit barbaric these days, but with Cabela?s Dangerous Hunts 2011 you can kill as many furry animals with big guns while wearing ghillie suits as you want and still catch a good night?s sleep. Or you may have nightmares after shooting a fluffy bunny.

- Brink
?I’m on the brink of madness at the anticipated arrival of this one. There’s been a buzz around town for what feels like ages now and I am reserving a few days for this one; let’s hope it doesn’t disappoint!?
- LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean
?Everything LEGO is fantastic. Such good clean family fun and much like the pretty plastic blocks themselves, the LEGO game incarnations never seem to grow old. I shall admit there is a bit of excitement coursing through my veins at the prospect of opening up all the old LEGO toys for my baby, and I’m not ashamed of that! ?As for this game, who can resist Captain Jack Sparrow? The Disney legend of The Pirates of the Caribbean is a timeless one so I am certainly looking forward to mayhem, adventure, high seas, and of course LEGO rum!?

“May has gotten off to a bad start what with PSN still being down and the PlayStation Store reportedly only coming online much later this month. It’s not all misery and melancholy though, as there are a couple of great single-player offerings coming our way over the next couple of weeks.
?At the top of my must-play list is L.A. Noire. I’m always a sucker for well-written adventure games, and this latest gift from Rockstar looks to raise the bar in terms of how closely virtual actors can mirror their real-life counterparts, and also features an ambitious and compelling script judging by the trailers I’ve seen. After playing Heavy Rain though multiple times, I realised game narratives still have a long way to go if they want to compete with the big boys of cinema like The Godfather or Inception. Hopefully L.A. Noire will be a step in the right direction. It was the first game to be featured at the Tribeca Film Festival so it’s certainly causing ripples in those circles.
?The Witcher 2 is another single-player experience I’m mightily looking forward to. I heard good things about the first one but unfortunately never got around to playing it. The world design looks unique, with highly-detailed textures and impressive art design making the graphics an enthralling spectacle for one’s eyes. I’m looking forward to seeing how the various choices in the game play out, and how well the non-linear narrative is told. I secretly hope this title can make a mockery out of Dragon Age II because us RPG enthusiasts know we deserve better than the disappointing sequel which EA and BioWare made such a fuss about. Can The Witcher 2 join Demon’s Souls on the coveted podium bearing the best RPGs of this generation? Only time will tell, but I’m sure hoping it does!
?I’m also looking forward to trying out DiRT 3’s interesting mix of multiplayer modes. For example, there’s one where you have to play cat and mouse with your opponents as they try and “infect” you. If that’s not a true test of driving skills and quick reflexes then I don’t know what is!
?Hopefully Parasite Eve II will be one of the first games to make its way onto the resurrected Playstation Store later this month. It was given an ESRB rating for PSN ages ago so I’m not sure what the hold-up was prior to the whole Sony fiasco.
?What’s on your wishlist for the month of May p33ps?”
Oliver
?There are too many great games releasing this month, all of which will steal your time away in the blink of an eye.
?From the lengthy campaigns of The Witcher II and LA Noire, to the depth of Brink, the cooperative fun of LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean to the addictiveness of DiRT 3, there?s absolutely no shortage of quality, time-consuming gaming to be had in May.
?Personally, I?m most looking forward to playing Brink and LA Noire, but will there be enough time for both? Multiplayer Brink at night and crime scene investigations with LA Noire over the weekend?
?It?s going to be tough, but like anything in life, you need to make time for worthwhile pursuits!?
