Luckiest squirrel on earth dodges Lamborghini - click above to watch the video after the jump

The Internet is chock-full of adorable pet videos and Jackass-style human clips, but it isn't very often when the animal is the one surviving the ill-advised act. That's typically not our cup of tea anyway, but when you throw in a spanking new Lamborghini Murciélago and a happy ending and we're likely to bite.

Beyond the jump is video of a squirrel that cheats death by Lamborghini. The earth-hugging bull is minding its own business at over 100 miles per hour during The Ultimate Lamborghini Experience 4 event at California's Fontana raceway when said squirrel decided to cross the track. What comes next is a bit of a miracle, as the squirrel manages to time its crossing in a most perfect manner. We're not sure who is luckier - the squirrel or the LP670-4 SV driver - but it does look like the furry critter may have had its tail docked a bit in the encounter, so let's hope he's okay. Official box art released for Batman: Arkham City

Batman: Arkham City is looking like a serious contender for Game of the Year. With revamped combat mechanics, new heroes and villains, and the streets of Gotham to explore - how could it possibly disappoint?

The game’s official box art was released today, and let’s just say Batman doesn’t look a happy camper.

Batman: Arkham City is being developed for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, and will be out on 18 October in North America and 21 October in PAL territories.

Adobe Offers 50 Percent Discount For Final Cut Pro Users Who Switch To Premiere Pro

As you may have heard, Apple's new version of its video editing software, Final Cut Pro X, has received considerable backlash from users. And as Jim Dalrymple reports, video editing rival Adobe has been welcoming these disheartened Final Cut Pro users with open arms. Now Adobe is taking it one step further, announcing a formal 'switching program' for any Final Cut Pro or Avid Media users. Adobe says that anyone who has purchased any version of Apple Final Cut Pro or Avid Media Composer and want to switch to Adobe's video tools (Production Premium or Premiere Pro) will be eligible for a 50 percent savings on Adobe Creative Suite CS5.5 Production Premium or Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5.

Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) has unveiled the special edition "SV Black Edition" based on either ClubSport R8, ClubSport Tourer R8, or Maloo R8 models at the Melbourne Auto Show. This special edition will be offered in both manual and automatic transmissions and will go on sale in September.

The "SV Black Edition" will be offered with matte black detailing, a Vector hood scoop and fender gills, HSV’s bi-modal exhaust system, and 20-inch forged alloy wheels. For the interior, the Black Edition models will add a unique dash treatment, leather seats, and a leather-bound steering wheel, on top of the already generous E3 equipment list. A special Enhanced Driver Interface (EDI) system that will offer details on power, torque, manifold pressure, fuel, elevation, voltage, oil and air temperature will also be available.

The standard equipment list includes a reversing camera, park assist, and satellite navigation. There will only be 225 units built and, despite the "Black Edition" name, this special edition will be offered in Sting Red, Heron White, Alto Grey, Nitrate Silver, and Phantom (black).

Video: Watch Pikes Peak racer Roger Lovell roll from the inside out

Roger Lovell rolls at Pikes Peak - Click above for to watch video after the jump

It's been almost a week since the crazies went hell bent for glory up Pikes Peak, and videos from the hill climb are still making their way to the internets. The crew from AMSOIL just released a volley of footage from their two sponsored entries - drivers Brad and Roger Lovell.

Brad had no problem ushering his custom machine up the mountain, but as you may have heard, Roger ran into a bit of a glitch during his run. Part-way through the course, Roger missed an apex, drifted onto the far shoulder and attempted to correct his path, resulting in a lengthy tumble up an asphalt section of the road.

Thanks to a stout roll cage and plenty of luck, Roger came out of the incident without serious injury. And fortunately for the carnage-hungry out there, the crew had strapped an onboard camera into the cockpit before the buggy went tires-to-Jesus. Denmark lands Europe's first Better Place EV battery swapping station

Better Place continued on its quest of global EV-battery-switching domination, Tuesday, bringing its special drop-and-swap charging solution to the fine folks of Gladsaxe, Denmark. An automated robot arm ceremoniously traded out the battery in a Renault Fluence Z.E., marking the beginning of a nine-month roll out across the country. The aptly titled Battery Switch station is the first of its kind in Europe and the first of 20 to be installed in Denmark. It was a monumental occasion, to be sure, one that could have only benefited from a performance of Michael Jackson's Heal the World as sung by Danish humanoid (and ladies' man) Geminoid-DK. Microsoft files antitrust complaint against Google in Europe, showdown imminent

Microsoft, citing Google's tyrannical 95% share of the European search market, has lodged a formal complaint with the European Commission. It's not like Microsoft is breaking any ground here -- the European Commission has been investigating Google's alleged violation of European competition law since November 2010 -- but there's no doubt that the addition of Microsoft's gravitas will affect the proceedings.

Microsoft's complaint reads like a sincere and plaintive cry for help against the Google Overlord. Microsoft lists no less than six damning reasons why Google's behavior is anti-competitive -- from Windows Phone 7's incompatibility with YouTube, to its nefarious handling of Google Books -- and finishes with a wide-eyed plea to the European Commission to please find Google guilty.

For those of you that have been following Microsoft's own antitrust troubles over the last decade, don't worry: MS is quick to point out the irony in the situation. "There of course will be some who will point out the irony in today's filing. Having spent more than a decade wearing the shoe on the other foot with the European Commission, the filing of a formal antitrust complaint is not something we take lightly. This is the first time Microsoft Corporation has ever taken this step. More so than most, we recognize the importance of ensuring that competition laws remain balanced and that technology innovation moves forward."

It sounds like Microsoft, having well and truly gone through the wringer, wants Google to be held similarly accountable. That's fair enough, right?
