Google Buys German Groupon Clone DailyDeal

DailyDeal.de, a German Groupon clone launched in Berlin in December 2009, has been acquired by Google, the company says in a message on its website (see below). TheNextWeb reported the acquisition first (in English, at least). Google hasn't yet announced or confirmed the acquisition. DailyDeal did not disclose the financial terms of the agreement.
