As PlayStation 3 owners of Call of Duty: Black Ops will no doubt be aware, the very first set of downloadable content for the game, a 5-part map pack called First Strike, is due for release tomorrow on the PlayStation Network.
The First Strike map pack features four all-new multiplayer maps as well as one new zombie mode map, and after going on sale on Xbox LIVE Marketplace recently the pack sold an incredible 1.4 million units in only 24 hours. Massive!
So tomorrow, it?s the PS3?s turn to get the content and in similar style to when the pack released for Xbox 360, Activision and Treyarch will be holding a multiplatform ?Double XP? weekend event for the game to celebrate the latest release of First Strike.
From a Twitter tweet by Treyarch community manager, Josh Olin:
?Double-XP will begin at approx. 10a PST on Friday, March 4th. It ends the same time Monday. All Platforms.?
This means that, at the start time and date, if you jump into a multiplayer match of Black Ops you’ll be able to earn double the amount of experience points that you would normally accrue, making ranking up twice as fast. But only for this weekend…
Be sure to jump in then!
(Note: 10am PST converts to 1pm EST, 6pm GMT and 8pm South African.)
