You can?t trust humans in Portal 2 ? send in the robots!

Portal 2 from Valve Software is due for release on April 21st in stores and via the developer?s digital distribution service Steam, so we don?t have all that much longer to wait before we?re inserted back into the science labs of Aperture? only not anything like what we remember, now set many, many years after the events of the original Portal.

While Portal 2 will of course include a fully-featured singleplayer campaign for players to puzzle through in the first-person, while using ‘portal transport’ and new portal gun abilities to traverse the mazes set up by the malevolent GlaDOS, the game will also include an entirely separate cooperative mode for you and a buddy to tackle challenges together, each taking on the role of one of two robots ? ATLAS and P-body.

Because humans have in the past proven to be? unreliable, these two bots were created to more predictably carry out extensive tests currently run by Aperture Science, and you can watch the latest Portal 2 trailer below to discover how the pair have been trained in trust exercises in order to yield better results during tests? if only marginally better than their human counterparts:

Look out for the release of Portal 2 at the end of April across PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
