The day dawned bright and early for the El33tonline team, after months of planning and preparation it was finally time to reveal Stand 28 to the world, well to South Africa at least.
The queue was building outside the Coca Cola Dome, both with gamers eager to get into the LAN and visitors excitedly awaiting the doors to the venue to open. And open they did, with the LAN filling up quickly with gamers settling into their homes for the weekend and visitors to the event making their way around the show floor.
This year?s rAge is arguably the biggest and best, with amazing titles on display, a lot of them being pre-release code, awesome stands that rival international standards and booth babes galore.
What more could gamers want? Free stuff of course, and it was flowing freely at Stand 28 where the El33t team entertained the crowds during our giveaway times. It started at 12pm to chants of ?33? where we gave away T-shirts, games and swag to the tons of folk who gathered in front of our stand.
Word quickly spread and by 2pm we saw a few familiar faces back again for our next giveaway. This time round the bounty had increased, with a mini-desk fridge and ADSL Router up for grabs from our partners Afrihost. To put your minds at ease we didn?t throw these prizes into the crowds, but rather drew lucky numbers from those who had signed up to El33tonline during the day.
The last giveaway of the day at 4pm saw even more free stuff being given to the crowds, with the Nintendo T-shirts and Big Willy Wacky Wobblers proving very popular. The shiny new El33tonline branded merchandise (lanyards, pens and stress balls) was also greeted with much enthusiasm.
We?ll be back tomorrow and Sunday to continue giving away the one millions Rands of bandwidth sponsored by Afrihost. We also have tons of more swag, games and T-shirts to giveaway, along with another mini-desk fridge and ADSL Router, and possibly even a few more surprises.
