The Sonic series hasn’t had much critical success this console generation, with only Sonic Colours for the Wii and DS really resonating with reviewers. Sonic Generations hopes to make up for those missed opportunities by including redesigned levels from three recent Sonic titles - Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), Sonic Unleashed (2008) and the aforementioned Sonic Colors (2010).
These ‘Modern Era’ stages include Crisis City, Rooftop Run and Planet Wisp, which can be seen in all their refined glory in the trailer below.
I have high hopes for Sonic Generations being the best of the bunch this console cycle based on what I’ve seen and played of the game. Be sure to relive that special brand of Sonic magic when the title graces Xbox 360, PS3 and 3DS on November 1st in the US and November 4th in PAL territories.
