Sony: PlayStation Store is back online, just under pressure at the moment - please be patient

PlayStation Store - A Virtual Shopping Bag

Earlier today we reported that the PlayStation Store was back online in both the North American and European (PAL) regions.

However, we soon discovered that users were being frustrated with error messages when trying to access the reopened PlayStation Store, making it impossible to even sign into the PlayStation Network at times.

Since then the PlayStation Store updates for both regions have gone live (stay tuned for details on those mammoth lists soon), along with news of what we can expect as part of the ?Welcome Back to PlayStation Plus? promotion which will be available as soon as possible.

Before you become alarmed about the error messages you may be receiving when trying to log into the PlayStation Store, bear this comment from PlayStation Network Product Manager James Thorpe in mind.

According to Thorpe, we?re getting these error messages (?An error has occurred? or ?The connection to the server has timed out?) because of the ?huge amount of people accessing the Store.? He apologises for this and asks us to please try again later.

So it seems as if nothing sinister is afoot so be patient and enjoy the rewards when you get in.
