Veteran Italian developer Milestone and publisher Black Bean Games recently announced an October release for WRC 3, the third entry in the pair’s series of officially licensed FIA World Rally Championship games.
Milestone claims that WRC 3 will mark “a radical departure” from previous WRC games and will use a completely new in-house graphics and game engine, called the Spikengine, which the team says allows them to “accurately model lighting, particle effects and other real-world characteristics to create an in-game virtual reality, offering complete immersion in the WRC universe.”
As a result, the cars of WRC 3 are said to look more life-like than ever and handle more realistically than before, while improved crowd effects, rebuilt stages and brand new cinematic introductions to each rally stage round out the range of graphics touches and niceties promised for the game.
Milestone has also endeavoured to streamline every aspect of WRC 3 to get you into the game and playing as quickly as possible, but the developers haven’t forgotten about experienced rally gamers, either, and will of course allow these players to explore “the game’s full range of features and drive a WRC car from the comfort of their own home.”
Add to all of this the inclusion of all of the rallies in the 2012 WRC calendar, all of the leading teams and drivers in the revamped career mode with 50 official WRC teams in Class 2 and Class 3 series, as well as ‘Super Special Stages,’ WRC 3 is set to be the very best game in the series yet!
WRC 3 is due for release in October this year on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC and PS Vita.
