Sleeping Dogs dev diary hones in on recreating Hong Kong

Few games have used Hong Kong as a setting despite its rich history, varied terrain and impressive skyline. Sleeping Dogs’ developer United Front Games is looking to capture the essence of the territory’s cultural and architectural diversity through a gripping story and open-world playground packed to the brim with authentic details.

Sleeping Dogs’ first developer diary is a fascinating look at the extensive research that went into making the game’s world as accurate as possible. United Front travelled to Hong Kong to extract firsthand data from the territory, which included taking thousands of photos and even conducting interviews with members of the police as well as various Triad organisations.
