When that title begins to outstay its welcome, however, those better established franchises tend to get a little? exacerbated, and now that Zumba Fitness has remained at No. 1 for five weeks in a row, and has managed to top the chart for a total of eight weeks this year, Activision, EA and other publishers must be pulling their hair out.
It?s understandable, however, that a game in the popular fitness genre would be able to maintain its winning ways for so long over the current videogame release dry spell, and not even the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows ? Part 2 (on all formats) can dislodge the new chart royalty.
What are the rest of the plebs up to this week?
Despite a 24% drop in sales for Zumba Fitness, Transformers: Dark of the Moon (sales down 6%) shifts up to No. 2 from No. 3 last week, swapping places with DiRT 3 (sales down 25%), as Call of Duty: Black Ops (sales up 35%) climbs its way to No. 4 from No. 7 thanks to a price promotion.
LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean (sales down 10%) is forced down one place to No. 5 as sibling LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars (sales up 33%) darts up six places to No. 6. Debut entry Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows ? Part 2 appears at No. 7 on the chart as EA Sports Active 2 reappears at No. 8, with a whopping 338% rise in sales with a price promotion in the UK.
The persistence of Brink (sales down 9%) is rewarded with a No. 9 chart position (down from No. 8) and Assassin?s Creed: Brotherhood (sales up 12%) finds a new home at No. 10 after charting at No. 15 last week.
